Ingredients
  

  • 160 ml milk (2/3 cup)
  • 3 units eggs lightly whisked
  • 55 g caster sugar (1/4 cup)
  • 1 pinch mixed spice
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 6 slices white bread 1cm thick
  • 1 punnet strawberries hulled, washed, halved (250g)
  • thickened cream to serve
  • 60 ml maple syrup (1/4 cup)

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, and mixed spice in a bowl.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Dip bread slices into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak briefly.
  • Cook soaked bread in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with strawberries, cream, and maple syrup.
